Here I am, thinking about the social implications of the kids and DAD sitting on the couch, waiting for MOM to bring home the bacon, so to speak, and here you are just wanting them to get off their butts!
I feel stupid.
No, you have a good point. But how come Mom has to bring home the bacon AND cook it? Back in the 50's or whenever, did Mom get to sit on the couch holding a sign saying, "I feel like pork tonight, honey."
OK, that didn't come out at all the way I meant it.
